STUDIO POLICIES

Tuition/Payment Policies:

Classes run September-June with each class receiving an equal number of lessons throughout the season, considering holidays and breaks. Tuition is a set amount for the season, divided into 10 equal payments paid monthly. The same tuition payment is due each month, regardless of the number of classes held due to calendar fluctuations. The first monthly tuition payment is due upon enrollment, and each subsequent payment is due on the 1st of each month.

Payment methods accepted: This season auto-pay is required & all dance families must have a credit or debit card on file through their DSP Parent Portal account. Auto-pay payments will be processed on the 1st of each month. Each month, tuition will be posted to accounts on the 16th of the month. If you prefer to pay with cash or check you may do so before the 1st of the month.

Late Fee: If we are unable to process your payment through auto-pay, a $15 late fee will automatically be applied to your account on the 15th of the month. Late fees also apply to postdated checks. A $25 fee will be assessed for returned checks.

Registration Fee: A yearly registration fee of $35 (individual) or $50 (family with multiple students) is due at the time of enrollment & is non-refundable. The registration fee and first month’s tuition are due at registration.

Family Discount: The family member with the highest number of weekly class hours will pay according to the listed tuition rates. Each additional family member receives a 10% discount off their monthly rate.

Refund policy: Tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. No credits or refunds will be issued for missed classes. (See make-up policy below.)

Non-payment: Accounts more than 45 days past due will result in your dancer being dismissed from class until your account is paid in full. Due to limited class sizes, this may result in a lost class slot.

Recital participation: Accounts must be paid in full for dancers to participate in dress rehearsal & recital.

Recital costume fees: A $40 deposit per costume (due with November tuition) will be required to reserve a costume for the performance. The remaining costume balance is due with February tuition (amounts vary by class.)

Recital Media Fee: Each family participating in the recital will have a $30 media fee (due with April tuition) which allows all families to receive a digital recording of the performance.

Attendance/Make-up classes:

  • Students should arrive at least 5 minutes prior to class time.
  • Regular attendance to class is required for continual progression of class work.
  • If a student must miss a class, please contact the studio by phone or email.
  • Make-up classes due to sick days can be scheduled by emailing the studio.
  • MK Dance Center follows the Leominster Public School calendar for vacation weeks and “most” holidays. Classes missed because of holidays and studio vacation weeks are not available for make-up.
  • MK Dance Center follows Leominster Public School decisions for cancellations due to poor weather conditions. On non-school days we will make our decision to close one hour prior to the first scheduled class of the day. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be offered a make-up.
  • Missed classes can only be made up through March 1st. At this point in our dance season, all classes begin working on recital choreography and make-up classes are not beneficial to students.

Expected Student Behavior:

  • Students are expected to attend scheduled classes and come prepared in proper attire, with correct shoes and hair secured away from face.
  • Each student is expected to conduct herself/himself in a positive, respectful manner. At no time will disrespect to instructor or classmates, or the theft or destruction of studio or personal belongings be tolerated. If such an incident does occur, immediate action will be taken to remove student from the class, and if needed, from the studio. We believe that dance is a valuable tool that helps teach self respect and self discipline. Because these are qualities that we know you strive to promote in your children, we feel very fortunate to be your partner in the education process.
  • No food is allowed in dance rooms. Only water may be brought into dance rooms.
